Local art by local artists juried by local experts
Smithsburg, Maryland is home to all types of artistic minds. From pottery and sculpture to paintings and jewelry, the town's artists express their creativity in many different ways. To showcase the town's talents, the newly-formed Artists of 21783 (named for the Smithsburg zip code) is launching a competition open to all those living in "the 21783."
"Polish up your best work, and be ready to show it off!" said the Smithsburg Art & Culture Association in a Facebook post. There is no restriction on when the piece was created and no theme to adhere to, the group added. "The show is designed for the artists of 21783 to display their best work."
The two categories are Adult and Under 18 and submissions must be entered by January 27 to be considered for the exhibit. There is no application fee. Artwork will be for exhibit only (interested buyers will be directed to the artist to arrange a sale). For more details on guidelines and entering, click here.
The exhibit opens February 4, 2025 at the Smithsburg Library with an opening reception from 5:30-7 PM. The art will remain on display through April 6. Learn More
